We provide swim lessons for children and adults!  Lessons are tailored to the need of the swimmer:

  • Basic swim instructions are provided for those new to the water.
  • We can provide swim stroke instruction for those looking to add swimming as a great, low-impact workout.
  • Or strokes and turns one-on-one coaching is great for those on swim team, or anyone looking to improve their form.

Session Dates

Lessons are from June 3, 2024, until September 1, 2024, based on instructor availability. All questions about lessons are handled by the instructors. Contact information is provided below.

Please contact the instructor of your choice by email or phone regarding private or semi-private lessons.  Only approved instructors may use the BACA pools to offer swim lessons for a fee.

Fees for Swim Lessons

All fees are paid directly to the instructor. All ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.

Private Lessons are composed of a half hour of instruction. The rates for each instructor are set by BACA based on the instructor’s level of experience (see instructor list below).

Semi-Private Lessons are composed of a half hour of instruction for multiple swimmers in one lesson.

Hey, I’m Isabelle Haer! I am going into my junior year at VMI. I have been a swimmer my whole life and am currently a diver on the women’s swim and dive team at VMI. This will be my 6th year teaching swim lessons, and I am so excited to be teaching lessons again this year at Bon Air.  I primarily work with beginner to intermediate swimmers or ages 3 and up.

Hi I’m Tatum Ralston, and this will be my 11th year as a blue streak and first year as an assistant coach!  I was a volunteer coach for 2 years before this summer.  I love working with kids and sharing my love for the sport.
