Bon Air Pool Rules

    All members must register at the gate when entering pool area.
    No glass or bottles will be permitted in the pool area.
    No food will be allowed in the pool area. Drinks are allowed.
    All trash must be deposited in trash cans.
    The infant pool is for the use of non-swimmers only. All others are forbidden to play in it.
    Rafts, mattresses and balls are not permitted in any of the pools. Other inflatable objects are permitted in the shallow end of the medium pool and in the large pool by small children accompanied by a parent during the hours the medium is being used for lessons. Supportive inflatable objects are not allowed on the diving boards. Inflatable objects longer than 20” and “noodles” are prohibited in the pools.
    The adult or sibling in attendance of non- swimmers is responsible for seeing that such children do not enter the deep end of the pools. They are responsible for watching the non- swimmers in their charge at all times.
    Non-swimmers may not use the diving boards or slide.
    Face masks, snorkels, flippers, etc. are not permitted in the pools.
    No dunking, pushing, running, or cannon- balling.
    All small children must have bathing suits. Diapers are permitted when covered by a bathing suit. This includes both washable and disposable swim diapers. Please dispose of diapers properly.
    Swim suits are required. Tennis shorts, cut-offs, t-shirts, etc. are not considered swim suits. The pool manager or assistant may request any persons otherwise inappropriately dressed to put on a bathing suit.
    Showers are recommended before entering pools after participating in vigorous exercise.
    We ask that all parents remind their children of the toilet facilities and the importance thereof and the proper use of public facilities.
    It is requested that conversations with life- guards and gatekeepers be kept at an absolute minimum.
    BACA is not responsible for members’ valuables or any injuries.
    The pools are open only when lifeguards are on duty. The lifeguards have authority to close the pools at any time in consideration of the health and safety of members. This includes inclement weather.
    It is requested that clothes be changed at home as bath house facilities are limited.
    A guest must be accompanied by the inviting member and will be required to be registered in the Guest Book. It is requested that members limit, if possible, their guests to no more than 4 per family at one time. The same guest may not come more than 3 times during the season.
    No eye glasses may be worn in the pools unless they are an absolute necessity. Then they must be secured to the head by a strap.
    The lifeguards are fully authorized to enforce all rules and regulations and may suspend any violators as they deem necessary.
    During any youth oriented event no alcohol of any kind will be permitted on the premises. Signs will be posted to this effect. Anyone in violation of this rule will be asked to leave.

  • Bon Air Community Association offers three pools which are open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, 9 tennis courts of which 3 have lights and are open all year, a clubhouse available to all members at reduced rates, and during the Summer months a supervised recreation room with pool tables, ping-pong, etc. for children 8-16 plus a snack bar which offers lunch as well as snacks.
  • It is with pleasure that we welcome as our Head Swim Coach our own Barbie Gregory. Barbie has been a member of BACA for 9 years and a swim team parent for 6 years. Barbie swam at JMU on a swim scholarship, taught swim lessons and coached swim clinics at Riverside Wellness (now ACAC) for 11 years, and trains with the Masters Swim Team so she comes highly qualified professionally as well as knowing our program from being a parent.

  • Over in the diving well BACA is pleased to welcome Mason W. Laine as our new head coach. Mason has been involved with diving for over 23 years. She dove for Brighton Green, Salisbury, and then for JMU. She has coached several programs around the Richmond area including summer league for Salisbury, Hungry Creek, Midlothian YMCA, and Church Run. Mason will bring to the dive program strong experience as well as great enthusiasm. She is very excited to be a Blue streak and we are excited to have her on board.

  • Davis Toombs will be back this summer to offer instructional clinics as well as individual lessons for our BACA youth and adults. He will be on the courts beginning Monday, June 15. These clinics are offered several times during the day and there will be 7 sessions. Davis does a wonderful job with the children and makes it a fun and valuable learning experience. He usually has a couple of mini-tournaments for the participants.
